David’s Ongoing projects include "5Kms" and the "Enigma Variations".
"5 Kms" celebrates the fact that Perth still has a large variety of native birds which occur in reserves in the most built-up areas of the city.

These large scale, highly coloured and abstract works are based on birding observations.The Enigma Variations are a series of large scale nudes. Inspired initially by Elgar's famous music, these works explore not only the enigmatic nature of modern-day relationships but also their stressful toll.

Technically, the works incorporate aspects of cubism, (for example , the figure often seems to be viewed from two different but similar viewpoints), a painterly naturalism as well as elements of an abstract expressionism.
