Estelle uses various glass art methods such
as kiln-forming, pate de verre, cane making, murrina, flame-work
and is working on her blowing skills. Her interest lies in
the process of making glass, the poeisis of glass, with an
imbedded theme of, ones struggle to achieve harmony within
a community.
Estelle’s work deals with the individual as part of a community
- listening, touching, forever changing and evolving. Her
main interest lies with murrina and the pate de verre processes,
which involves an intense relationship in forming internal
markings and the object. The glass segments holding together
various surface and internal treatments, function as a metaphor
for the individual and all its idiosyncrasies. |
