Jill’s love of painting lead to an interest
in Jewellery making as a means of presenting miniature paintings
on porcelain and later to enamelling which has become her
ideal medium.
Enamel is a form of glass fused to metal at extreme heat.
Cloisonne enamelling uses very fine rectangular wires placed
on edge to form cloisonnes or cells. Plique a Jour enamelling
is the most difficult as the wires are soldered together before
the application of enamel which is held in place by surface
tension.;
Jill has been caught up in a world wide renaissance in enamelling
and works fulltime to keep up with requests to exhibit in
Australia and overseas.
