Born in Perth and trained in Western Australia
and Switzerland, Jill has worked in Graphic Design, Advertising
and Publishing from Melbourne, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich and
Basel before returning to Australia to work in Canberra and
Sydney and then returning to Perth to develop her own work,
firstly using serigraphy and to lecture in design, typography,
printmaking and business for the arts.
Jill’s move into designing with glass has evolved from
her printmaking. Inspired by the colours and forms of the
Australian outback, combining bold colours, simple shapes
and textures to ‘tell a story’, Each piece is
unique and original handmade, fused and slumped and kiln-carved
using Bullseye glass. Jill continues to combine both her techniques
creating new glass works.
