| Inaugural Exhibition
From the 2nd to the 11th of July the old Allpikes
car showrooms in Mt Lawley, Western Australia, came alive
with the inaugural AinA Exhibition.
Set to be demolished and redeveloped into a mixed commercial/residential
complex members of AinA transformed the site in under a
week into a funky showcase for the work of their member
artists.
The opening night on the 2nd was extremely well attended
with hundreds of people going through the exhibition. Ex
West Australian Premier Dr Geoff Gallop opened the exhibition
and the feedback and sales were very encouraging for all
concerned.
Homestead Realty agents formed one selling team and Artists
the other on the night with an informal competition being
run between the two teams. Both teams were readily identifiable
by their red caps and the Real Estate team won the night
hands down.
Not only did they win but they reported back that they
all had a great time and also bought some of the artworks
themselves in the process.
On the second night we had a ring-in don a red cap who
totally outsold everyone else. At the end of the night we
were sitting around going “who was that guy?”
Thanks to Patsy we now know who he is and a ‘big shout’
out goes to Darren. We understand that he really enjoyed
himself and we will be chasing him now for future exhibitions!
The exhibition was manned throughout by volunteers from
Mercy Ministries and AinA members. Congratulations to all
concerned for making this event a great success and stay
tuned for news of upcoming events.
