| Patsy is an Emo colourist with an innate and
very personal style. When talking about her work she said: “Painting
for me has always been an escape... therapy ...and I didn’t
realise until I started exhibiting that the paintings that had
the most meaning and power to me were the ones that people were
buying and asking for more...Bloody Hell...most of these were
personal and sometimes I felt quite vulnerable and exposed.
I am most happy and content when I am painting and creating
something new...trying something new...going to that place...wherever
it is where things just flow out of you.
Anyway...these days my paintings probably aren’t so
overtly personal. Painting makes me forget about wars, cruelty,
intolerance, greed, insensitivity, ignorance and prejudice
of all kinds... often when it comes to speaking about the
things that are the most important to me...the most human
things...maybe...just maybe...my paintings speak for me.” |
