Steve was born in Perth at Mercy Hospital
in Maylands in 1978. He studied art and jewellery throughout
his high school education and then began working as a refrigeration
technician. From this he learnt the skills of brazing and
soldering which he uses in his sculptural work today.
His main inspiration comes from nature itself although he
is also very interested in the mechanics of human and animal
anatomical structure.
Steve has experimented with many different mediums ranging
from pastels, papier-mâché, ink airbrushing,
clay, until arriving at his preferred medium - copper sheeting
and piping.
